Message from Local President Dwayne Sarty

Hello Local 4682 Membership.

We have, as you all know by now, reached a tentative agreement to vote on in the coming weeks for our new Contract. Unfortunately I can’t share any details of this tentative agreement yet, mainly so it doesn’t go public before you hear it first.

I truly want to thank the executive, the strike committee, picket captains and the rest of the membership for their support in reaching a tentative agreement. Furthermore, a huge thank you to Ryan Lutes, President of NSTU and all the teachers, staff, students and parents who also supported Cupe!
Our members have no idea how much pressure was put on the government and employers with the rallys, sign making, facebook shares ect….8 Locals with 5400 members were united! We were organized and ready to defend our strike mandate that was given by the members. We were ready! We all needed more and were successful in reaching a tentative agreement.
Voting will occur and a detailed explanation will occur, Sunday April 30, 2023 at 12:30pm at South Queens school and 3pm at Bayview school.
In Solidarity,
Dwayne
